Watch out everyone! Z has a new baby on level 2! It was freaking hard! I was told that only lightning could get it, so I ran my little druid away far so that I could relearn lightning spells into memory, but when I came back, the thing was dead,,,and he killed it with acid. I felt so inútil.

That's right, Larry, but i'll tell ya this, it wasn't easy. My poor bard died many times, getting the job done. I ping ponged him around in your fire wall too, and that seemed to work a little, until the spell ended. But he's not new, he just doesn't respawn with the vamps, and it's a good thing too. I've been in many battles with that boy, and none of them were easy. It was epic, needed deekin there to write it all down.

The next time I go in there, I'll have my sorcerer. I need to try him out. I have not used him in battle before, and last night was my poor druid's first run. Poor girl. I can't stop her from screaming in her sleep. She may be damaged permanately.

He was a tough one alright, almost as if he had some spell protections on him. He was probably even worse than Big Red down on level 9.

He was hard, but not harder than the red, that was an epic battle. Ol' boney fell in a quarter of the time that red did. But it was still the hardest fight for like 4 lvls.

Don't be silly, old red was much easier, one harm + one ice storm = the end of old red.

Old bones are just too difficult to hit to get in that harm spell.

It looks like it totaly depends on what type of character you are.
Larry------Druid=======Hard to kill! Took Acid to kill it!
RobertTB---Bard======Hard to kill! Not as bad as BIG RED!
Animal-----Barbarian===Harder than big Red!
StigTC-----Mage======said BIG RED was easy.

Question which Red Dragon are you talking about StigTC? Ninth level Dragon has total Magic resistance.
I used -- Harm, Ice storm, Metor Swarm, Mordenkainen's Disjunction, Lesser Spell Breach, Spell Breach, 5X power word Kill, 4X horrid wilting. What seemed to do it in was Godisnak the Bararians constant pounding on it and while he was doing that and Kalina was on the other side hitting it with every thing she had I hit it twice with Energy Drain and was out of spells so I was just loading up with my Bow when Big Red fell Dead and declaired Godisnak the Barbarian as having just killed it.
That battle lasted at least 20 min. Maybe longer! I know that It killed me 7 times and I used up 12 Heal potions on myself, and healed Gogisnak 5 or 6 times. Every time the Dragon got down to about 50% of its hit points he would heal Himself. After about 6 or 7 times It must of ran out of Heal spells and then we had our chance and we took it. I finally figured that If I could Keep Godisnak alive maybe we had A chance, He had the only weapon that was doing more than 10-12 damage points but it still had teeth and it ate me and left me for dead. Once again it went after Kalina on the other side of the small island all the while Gosisnak was pounding away at it. I used respawn once again got my bow shot one arrow and befor it even hit it Godisnak Had already given it the last Deadly blow, we all sat down and rested. That had to be an epic battle in the Undermountain, And I bet you 5 for 2 that Ziroc was on the other end of that Dragon doing The DM thing and healing that damn thing over and over. WE never gave up, What a team and I do mean Team. I don't know if we will ever have that great of a team effort again but if we had realized the power of Big Red (Ziroc) we would and could have killed it a little sooner but that will have to be next time!

Actually StigTC = Druid.

I killed him in 3 rounds.
1st round = Cast harm, misses. Old Red tries some fancy smancy, but otherwise useless magic
2nd round = Cast harm, hit, Old Red looses an insane amount of hit points. Old red does the same as in the 1st round
3rd round = Cast ice storm, Old Red takes about 20 hit points damage or so. Old Red drops to the ground and doesn't really do anything else.

My guess is that Old Red doesn't have as much spell resistance as you thought, since both harm and ice storm are affected by spell resistance.

The toughest thing about the battle was all the elder fire elementals, that damn near killed me more than once. Guess that just shows that buffing up during battle will get you killed, you really should do that before the first blow is dealt.

Power word kill will not work as Old Red has more than 100 HP, quite alot more actually.

Sorry Didn't know you were a druid. I thought you were a Mage.
When we fought him there were no fire Elementals I think that Ziroc has two different settings for big Red one as a stand alone with the game and the other is used when he is DM in the game we took out over 400 HP away from Big Red three times and then he would recharge I know this because I ran back over the battle stats after the fight and counted over 1,000 HP taken away from old Red befor He died. so either I added wrong or ziroc was in complete control of it because, He was DM that night and he added a number of Bad guys with very high level HP that night. My level 18 Mage couldn't touch Big RED he just would recharge right after I would knock off 150 hit points from him and it would again say that he was uninjured just after if had said near death a second before. That Dragon acted to much like it was really alive that night to be totally computer generated. I've fought alot of dragons in the Bioware worlds and this sucker had a human controling it and I'm sure Ziroc was laughing his butt off that night when he would jump up and run after us and then bite our heads off and I do mean BITE OFF our heads. Dragons are just not that fast in NWN!! and this one moved like it just spent the last two years at miss polly's school of Dance.
