Yes, but imagine trying to sell it to any store in Baldur's Gate. They could sell it to the Dukes for quite a profit. Put it in the Museum... Or the PC would sell it to the museum/temple directly.

Why would you give away Balduran's stuff to the museum? There's really nothing really wrong with it if the character is looking for their path that gives them the most prophet, but in BG2, you can equip some of Balduran's other equipment, which happens to have been stolen from the museum. It's just a little story inconsistancy, nothing really.

I'm just waiting for some enterprising modder to give that butterknife some enchantment. Like insta-slaying Ogre Magi or something. Then people would love it. Ironworks would get flooded with posts from people looking for it. Somebody would solo the game using only the butterknife, then write up their adventures and forevermore be remembered as "that guy who soloed with the butterknife." Although that sounds sorta dirty. :X

Pirengle, why not just use IEEP to modify the butter knife (you'll have to change it from a MISC item to a Dagger), then you could use it throughout the game as your main weapon

All right, I'm running some tests, and I think this is doable. I'll let you know when I finish. Ideally, the Butter Knife of Balduran will act as a +4 jellybane dagger.

It should also get bonuses versus Peanut Butter Golems! I don't know why the people at Black Isle didn't think to put those in!

After killing Irenicus and regaining his soul, Cyrus trudges southward to fight those who he never wanted to meet.

Cespenar: OOOH! Cespenar, good servant. Need must I make knife better? Need I, Big Metal Unit and Big Rod.

After trudging to Saradush and back to create the immensily overpowering contraption, Cyrus learns the true meaning of power.

Cespenar: Nope. No more recipes...

Cyrus: At last! Fear me Bhaal, and Cyric alike! I will be mighty at last!
