that dungeaon isnt a race you end up saving 2 of the people and killing the third. regardless how fast you go. and as far as stealth goes. is there even really a "stealth" mode?cause you said that combining those two attributes is what creates it. i know you can hide. but that puts a check on wether ot not your char is heard while moving. dont think it protects you while you walk right next to them either.

No, if your move silently skill can overcome the enemy's listen and spot skills you can dance around them and they'll never know.
Possible Spoiler . . . . . . . . . As a matter of fact, in the dungeon compitetion, I would run past the minotaurs, (which could cause a good amount of damage) and single them out at corridor bends and dead-ends. One big baddie is much better then two or three. |

Mem Dude, there doesn't seem to be a way to get the animal companion to do it on command. My ranger is stealthy enough to wander all over the place unseen (darn undead are immune ![]() And yes whoeverasked about it...there is most definately a "stealth" mode for rogues and Rangers to use. It is available at 1st level. [ 07-10-2002, 02:48 PM: Message edited by: MagiK ] |

bah! I miss my party from BG seris... this henceman thing is too much like arcanum, but... its annoying... I can see why you couldnt control a party, but they SHOULD have given more control over the hencemen.

btw, why do you want stealth mode? I mean you can't run in stealth mode. this will make the game slow.

I don't know about Tomi, but I think he goes into Stealth mode when he is in MELEE attack mode and that's only when he is attacking. I don't remember too well because I mainly had him use RANGED attack.
I do know that my animal companion panther did go into stealth mode when he attacked, because he was always see-through looking. But in both cases, as far as just walking around, they never went into stealth mode and I've never found a way for them to. My work around, though, is if I knew trouble was around the corner, I would make them STAND GROUND and go stealthy at or around the enemy to recon or sneak attack them. Then I would make both companions FOLLOW me and a great surprise attack melee would ensue. |

1. So I can check a place out before running in an getting my head cut off 2. So I can sneak attack people and wipe them out even before they know I'm there. Once you go visible (hopefully after having sneak attacked someone) the other enemies will run up to melee range and I get attacks of opportunity as they move into melee range. I'm not playing a tank - I'm playing a sneaky, shadowy ranger. I don't use stealth mode when walking around safe areas. [ 07-10-2002, 11:20 PM: Message edited by: Memnoch ] |

tanks dont have to worry and neither mages if they got area effect spells. thats what seperates the big dawgs and skinny homies from the rogue that wanders from the rest:p

I feel your pain...
What I do is command my henchman, familiar or whoever to "hold your ground" while I scout up ahead. Although they will be late for the fight if I attack without first retrieving them, it keeps me from being spotted.
