Yes but still then there would be unnecessary editing in bg2. Ok so that aspect of the game is not as good as it might of been (although im not criticising, Bardez made a great job) but id say its still better than bg on its own and thats what really counts

Just strategy-wise, dual-classing to mage before the character has reached level 10 if its first class is a thief or level 9 in case the first class is a fighter and thus taking full advantage of the hit-point-increment-by-hit-dice-rule rule always seemed like an enormous blunder to me. To require that in a mod just for plot reasons looks more than a bit unfortunate to me, there should be other, more flexible options.

yes but remeber this is bg1 and if u dualled at level 10 (is that actually within the xp cap) then u wouldnt find enough exp in the game to get ur dualled char up to level 10 of their second class

Yes it is within it for some class I think, but the only way to get round that prob you mentioned is to take the exp off
