Well, I'm an RPG newbie, but I"m going to have to say that "The Bards Tale" off the old commodore 64 and very text based was one of my favorites, and the game that got me hooked. As far as the techonological and graphically superior games go, I would say:
Might and Magic VII and VIII, Wizards and Warriors and Diablo. These are the only ones I've played to be honest. Would love to hear some suggestions. Fishman |

Hi!
I must put in my vote for BG ToSC. Considering the age of that game the graphics were stunning and the plot unrivalled. Even more so if you take in account how the BGII and the Throne of Bhaal continues the saga. If you go way back... I enjoyed playing Eye of the Beholder a lot on my 286 12Mhz comp Cheers // Jazzid

My favourite Rpg games are a toss up between Pools of Radiance and the whole eye of the beholder set, talkin C64 here fellas and gals.
I totally enjoyed Dark Sun and am fast becoming a big fan of this marvellous game. I hope to soon experience Baldurs gate and as of the new Pools of radiance I read that it was a dud. Frank |

Hmm...
I started with Might & Magic I, so that's one of my favorites... Can't play it any more -- too hard, and I lost all my maps ![]() MM6 is the best of the MM series IMHO. Wizardry 7, Bard's Tale II and III, Ultima III, other MMs all rank up there with me, roughly in that order. I'll put W&W before Wiz7, but after MM6.

Ultima 3, my first. And Bards Tale. (Loved that room with the 4 * 99 berserkers, using 2 mages with mind blade and a bard with a frost horn

the first rpg i played was an old amiga game called "the bards tale" and then i went to the destiny knight (bards tale 2) witch i think even though its slow bad graphics (although good for its time) it was the most challenging and therefore the best game ive played
