I've seen some comments about strategies for fighting her and that she has a bunch of followers behind her.

Has anyone taken the approach of advancing levels to the point of learning meteor storm before getting to her? (I have a party, mostly level 4s now and have not been to rethpian/f'lokis ra yet, so I think I should be faring pretty close to level 7 by hanging around in the crypt with the asylum ghouls, and with meteor storm I would think I could just blow them to bits and pick up the items from their corpses

Btw, the tips rock. Joining the other guilds as soon as one can is pretty nice. (A shame that the rogue can't do anything until Ishad N'ha
... of course I killed Mon the Sculz before my priest started paladin training and I didn't have a save-game. Ah well.

I am curious about the Ranger role/who to make a bow-user... I have 2 warriors, 1 rogue, 2 mages and 1 priest. The warriors I've sort-of planned on paladin and barbarians, with one ascending to valkyrie. The rogue to assassin, but ninja needs throwing yes? Also, is it better to do monk before paladin or does one have to be monk to become zenmaster?

Definitely get at least one high-level "storm" spell (Meteorstorm, Firestorm) before attempting the Serpent queen...it helps, although it's not fully necessary. Burning Haze also works, and it stops them in their tracks.

I would definitely level up the characters if I were you in the Crypt. Use Rumphy...that's what he's there for. He also drops a wand every time you "off" him, so he's a good source of funds for your characters early on.

Take on the Naga and Elyssia at about 8th-10th level on your characters.

Thank you.

I've been focussing on the Stone class because I've found those to be more effective than some of the fire ones... at least I have found that even early on, some of the things are less affected by fire than by zap/shock etc. (Such as the spirit of the wizard)
(Plus, given the amount of good spells in the Stone class I think I'll try to get level 9 to ensure I have all the necessary stuff covered, as well as artifact, merlins shield and of course both wizards raining down meteors - will be very useful for mantraps

You mention Rumphy. I have seen him, and killed him. Does he re-appear? Is he any kind quest, or just something to toast repeatedly?

Do you have any tips for the elixir from Gabrielle? Do I drink it before fighting the Naga or how is it used?

thanks.

Hi Sark. I'll try to answer some of your questions.

The spirit of Rumphy reappears if you leave the crypt and enter again. It's enough if you switch the exit lever twice and enter again. He gives the highest XP of all monsters in the crypt (6954xp neatly divided between your player characters).

Kerielle's elixir doesn't do anything spectacular to the Naga. If you use it on her she gets paralysed, but only until you attack her again. It could be useful if you need to heal up!

Thanks for the information on the Elixir. Hope that when I come to use it I don't need to heal, but can rain down a nice little storm on her head.

On the Spirit of Rumphy: you don't need to exit the crypt. Just run back to the Kerah Statue (where you said Sanctus Kerah) and then back again. He'll pop in again. He's worth about 1167 XP per character in a 6-character party, and you can stand back and fire stone spells at him and take him out without ever putting yourself in danger.
