Ok so I am going through the game a second time, the first with a Paladin and now with a dual class Mage/Thief.. I started off that way and I have the hit point count of a daffodil and the boy is an 8th level mage and a 9th level thief. (25 hit points for God's sake!) Anyone think there may be something awry wiht that? I could use a hex editor to fix it but I hate cheating.

Not really, you just had bad rolls.
Try saving before levelling up, then reloading if you don't get what you like. Check your CON score before you start the player off and re-roll. Go for the CON tome early on. Use a human player and start as a fighter (for better HP even paladin or ranger can be good) before dual classing to whatever - also handy for weapon skills (like a mage who can use a longbow). OR, just skite to everyone here about how you beat Sarevok with Mr/Ms puniverse ... |
