*heaps dung upon his head*

You are correct, Vedran, I did indeed mix up Tarnesh and Tranzig. DOH!!!

At least I still know Zhurlong from Furret, though.....

The reason why I feel that the fight with Tranzig is so tough is because, at this point in the game you, at best, have only a two-four member party.
If you're careful, you can sometimes get into the Inn and recruit Jaheria and Khalid before you have to fight him. I've been able to do it once. IIRC, it was night time and I sent a stealthed Imoen to the other side of him, then had him start chasing her. The rest of my party made the door, and Imoen got him tangled in some rubble and was able to get around him and join everyone at the door.

Killing Tarnesh wasnt really that difficult btw, he had a very low hit point that give us a great advantage. All i need to do is to use my imoen and pump 2 arrows at him be4 we engaged him in a dialogue. Once dialogue ended, I use Xzar and my necro to pump MM and LMD at him. He died before he can cast his MMs.

If u think killing him is hard, wait till u fight Drizzt and Shandalar...

I have basically fought every enemy in the game, with the exception of Drizzt (major cheese in order to kill him) and Sarevok.

You mentioned Shandalar, and yes I will agree, he is one tough guy to figure out (read the thread below).

Now obviously I do not have anymore trouble in beating Tarnesh, since I understand the game inside and out.

I was more or less arguing from the vantage point of, facing him for the FIRST time ever, that's why I felt he was so difficult.

Don't read... Drizzt is not an enemy. He is friendly, until some eeevil Bhaalspawn provokes him and (usually) gets sliced . ...unless you have finished Baldur's Gate.

And killing Tarnesh while he is not hostile is cheesy.

Heh, I managed to edit it myself. When was it enabled again?

Hm.. according to the manual, ol' Thalantr is level 17(!). It has been awhile since I read it though, so I may be a bit off.

It is not subtle, it is a gamebreaker... Goodbye, people, it is my turn to get exiled...

I alarmed the competents.

Thalantyr is level 11.

Light Bulb

Or you could get lucky with Tarnesh: after the small-talk, he turns red, you strike at him with your long sword, critical hit and he dies!! Or have imoen hide in shadows and backstab! Or let him cast MI and run away and return later for the asswhooping!

Blah... Blah... Blah...

I knnoowww he's not an enemy unless YOU make him one, blah, blah, blah.

Honestly though, how many people do you think have played all the way through the game and did not atleast ONCE try and see if they could beat Ol' Drizzt?

And sure, I know that he is a legendary hero and all, I simply typed my post quickly and didn't think about what I had wrote.

So I'm sorry if I offended you or something, I will be more conscientious of my labels next time.

You have missed the whole thing about spoilers, haven't you? I hid the text where I wrote the spoiler, but you rewrote it in your post. That information is learned at the end of the game.

And I was kidding about Drizzt . Don't perceive everything so serious.
