Have all your fighters/rangers/paladins use greater whirlwind. He goes down like intern on Clinton. He's really not that difficult.

I actually just finished this part for the first time (And second time).
1. Main Character is a Evil Cleric of Talos (Second time around Main Character was a Cleric/Ranger of MUCH LESS level brought in through BG1 this took a 3 tries) 2. Sarovok (Minsc) 3.Korgan (Keldorn). 4. (Vironica)Jaheira 5.Imoen 5. Arie I buffed everyone up like mad so you couldn't see the portraits anymore. Sent in my main character with Globe of Blades and Aura of Flame she basically sat there and took hits from the two beasts that the demon conjured (if you kill them first he brings more and more and MORE) tried to cast spells but the minons seem to hit you no matter what. Then I just let Sarovok and Korgan or Minsc and Keldorn hack away like mad! Imoen and Arie were just casting Pierce Magic, Greater Malison or using wands of spellstrik for the heck of it just in case that helps. Evil Cleric party did it in one try with Arie diing (she always dies in all the boss battles but set's Minsc off and that is always works out good) I was so let down because I have a hard time with Dragons and I thought the Demon was to be harder BUT as long as the minons are kept to two I think its easy to go in and hack away. But then when I did the Imprisoned one with my Cleric/Ranger who was only in Chap 7 not in TOB yet. I got mopped up 3 times before we won. Lots and lots of potions of extra healing in his quick slots. So, conclusion, for more fun and greater challenge go see the demon early. |

Personally, I enjoy an occasional C in Sarevok. Keeps me on my toes.

Idle thought....can the Imprisoned One be Imprisoned? True, it sends him a bit closer to his home plane, but it would be worth it just for the irony: Even if somebody casts Freedom for him, he's still locked up.

He has an immunity ring, so this, combined with logic, says that he can't.
Probably should have left it alone.

Just soloed The Imprisoned One with my FMT God. His stats are all too powerful to not be considered cheese, so I'll only include my strategy for him:
Buff with blur/Imp Haste/Mirror Image/Protect from Magical Weapons/Stoneskin/Resist fear/Fireshield Red and Blue. Contingencies are what I think won me the battle not to mention having an incredibly powerful char, so this might not work, and you might not want to try it. I collected multiple PfMW scrolls through my travels, so T.I.O. can't hit me, nor can his Glabrezus. What surprised me though was that I was unconscious during most of the battle wearing Jan's armor and Raraunch's Horn (again if it is too cheesy don't do it) and I still won mosly due to my fireshields. I summoned a planetar after I got hurt too much and to take care of the multiples of Glabrezus around me. If possible, try and do this for Imoen, having her as the tank and load up on protection stuff. Make sure to have as many defensive scrolls on her as possible so you can cast them without interruption. Load her up with Magic Resistance too. While she's taking the beating, use your supporters to wail away with ranged weapons. [ 10-24-2004, 10:41 PM: Message edited by: whathuh ] |
