I need a walkthrough for Watcher's Keep

Another qn related to the lower levels of the keep...

Can some1 give somehint as to the order in which u have to light the fires (blue and purple ones) to open the door? on the level where LUMS machine is...

Also not sure if I have posted this qn b4...but I never got the chance to c the answer - I got a part of the Ilithid rod (key) but couldn't find the other 1/2 - was this other 1/2 on 1 of the creatures that u kill becos it is no where in sight (even after pressing the TAB key to highlight items on ground)

eh....Is that a subtle hint? or...? Becos I already said I tried looking on the ground for it everywhere (by pressing TAB) or do u mean something else when u say 'looting'??? as illithids are all dead and items will appear on the ground when they r killed obviously....
