ryaldin if you actually have "The Original Saga", Totsc is included if you want it or not. As far as I know there is no patch for the "The Original Saga" and if you do patch it that may explain were the problem is coming from.

Don't remember the patch history of the item, but as far as I'm aware, the x/y coords should be: 2553, 3757. Its near the rock at the bottom of the screen, around about the centre of the map.

It should always be there if TOTSC is installed, no matter the form. It was in the very early versions of BG without TOTSC, and was removed in the later versions. If you have the exact X and Y numbers for a given item, and you press L and those numbers come up and the item isn't there, THEN THE ITEM ISN'T THERE, PERIOD. Get the expansion.

I have the expansion and the patch and I found it in my game so it shouldn't be a programming related problem.

Below the tree, above the rock, closer to the tree than the rock but still a little off center to the right half of the tree. And Patience, Patience, Patience. You can capture more flies with honey than you can with a 2 by 4. Be the ring find the ring grasshopper.

Oh you people are making this MUCH too hard.

The easy easy EASY way to find the ring is to hit the L key to see where your cursor's x/y position is and then once you're somewhat near the coordinates for the ring, just HOLD the L key down and move your mouse accordingly until you get to the correct coordinates!

most of the coordinates I've seen online are wrong, at least for my own game, but they'll get you near it, just look around for it once you're in the ballpark.

Well if you've got the EXACT same version of the game that I've got (I got the tales of the sword coast add on, came with a music soundtrack CD and a full map of BG but NO manual!!!) then these coordinates should work:

http://www.pottsland.com/baldur/index.html

X:2552
Y:3758

That's where I found it anyway...unless the location is random or something...
