Sorry guys but ctrl-Y doesn't kill him! You can use it a million times if you want it won't kill him! Of course he'll be at 1 hit point so you can just punch him and he'll die(hehehe)

quote: It seems simple really, if you have six slots open in lvl 8 spells and two slots open in lvl 9 spells. Im not sure if hes magic resitant so just in case, spell trigger him with three lower resistances, then let out a chain contintgency of 3 abi dalzims, twice. I soloed a wild mage. It was quite amuzing. I actually summoned birds instead of mordenkainen one time. And yes, mages are like every class put together. Fighter? Tensers transformation. Cleric? Summon Planetar. Thief? Knock. Its quite pointless to have a fighter, cleric, thief in your party when you could have a mage. |

I think only Demogorgon, Balthezar(when he uses his "Faster than the Eye" discipline) and perhaps Melissan in the final battle are immune to timestop, other than that...
Yep, mages rock the world. ![]() |

I have beaten the regular demongorgon twice. He is not a formidable foe. The preceding battles were much harder. My high level party (average 24-30) killed in in a breeze. Most of my characters were uninjuried. Have you tried the boots of the GARGOYLE....It casts stoneskin twice a day. Put it on a 2 weapon wielder dwarf, add, whirlwind, improved hast, resit damage and...poor demongorgon is history...

Personally I think that the Cleric is the best class because it can cast VERY powerful magic, though not time stop admittedly. But it can cast finger of death, Gate, Summon (fallen) Deva, the best elementals you can get, you can turn into a kick rs elemental, and other kick rs stuff. Mage and Cleric are VERY close: neck-to-neck.

Hrm clerics do get some powerful spells but I don't think they are even in the same ballpark as a mage. There are too many "broken" spells in my opinion. Little loopholes like using projected image to summon infinite elementals etc, reuse the same scrolls etc. Time stop is just nutty and just amplifies how powerful the other mage spells are. The crazy thing about mages is that they can adapt to different situations so well. With the right spells they can walk right into alot of battles and melee with the meatshields.
