Heh heh, I wonder how many find this Priest spell too overpowered?
My priest, equipped with an Amulet of Power, can just waltz through hordes of Undead and basically say to them, "HIT ME!" Within 1 round, they all die... ... Liches, Vampires, Skeletons, etc... ... it doesn't matter, they die. Lich fights are a joke now and Vampires no longer induce fear in my party. Maybe they should cap it at some level? Like how they capped Wizard spells which depend on the Caster level? ------------------ If not a Sorcerer, then a Paladin. ![]() ------------------------- Baldur's Gate Item Mart |

I have to competely disagree with that. I understand where your logic comes from, but you have to remember, you are a 20 to 40-ish level character. You are damn near Godly! If you were to attain this kind of experience in PnP, you would be an amazing force to be reckoned with.
besides, that is THE talent of the cleric. It's what they do. So they should excel at it. If anything is "over-powered" it is the weapons, armor and trinkets we all use. But, then again, we are in a fantasy realm. And what fantasy realm would be complete without the over-powered magic items? ![]() Hmmm, that gives me an idea. I think I'll do a round with no magic weapon, items, or armor. That should prove very interesting. ![]() -Immoral |

Priests -and I'm keeping this to AD&D priests because I don't want to spark a full scale theological debate or argument, are considered to be focuses for their gods power.
Obviously the more powerful the cleric the greater the power there is no reason why turn undead would stop increasing in potency. Imho mage spells are limited in power because mortals can only control a finite amount of magical energy. A high level cleric is going to be looked after by his god and will not be put under the same pressure. |

And no I don't think the turn undead is to powerful. It's what clerics do. Personally I rarely use it because I hate chasing after people. (It rarely destroyed them in BG2.) Now that it's so powerful i'll use it more often. Lich battles were already a joke at level 22. Except for those dang demiliches. They all payed the ultimate price of death. (Again.) ------------------ Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just don't have to listen. ![]() |
