i have re-read the faq on dual classing for about the tenth time-im stupid. and i have come to this conclusion, my kansai can continue to use swords and axes or whatever even after i have dualed into a mage, and i would still retain my bonus' things for having grand mastery. so the only thing i will loose whilest im waiting to regain level 12 as a mage(i dualed at lvl 12 from a fighter) is my armour class bonus........ am i right or comepleatly wrong

Almost right. When you dual class, you are a mage and only a mage until your kensai reactivates. While you are a mage, you can only do what mages can do - including with weapons. Once your kensai class reactivates, you can do everything a multi-classed fighter/mage can do, except wear armour.

EDIT: Running colours.
