I am planning on dual classing a Beserker into a thief and I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it worth it?
2. If I was to give him * in short bow whilst a beserker, once I become a thief, I'll give him ** in short bow, and when I get my beserker back, would I have *** in short bow?
3. At which level should I dual class?

Another question: Is a Fighter/Mage/Cleric a good combo to play?

1. Depends on what you want him to do.
2. No.
3. I would dual at whatever point your beserker had 5* in whatever weapon he was going to be using most of the time.

just wondering y do you want a beserker thief?
i dont totally remember but i think that you wouldnt get *** in it, youd just keep the **. if you really want to dual, do it at level 10 unless you want to wait for the extra enrage at lvl 12. personally i would go for a beserker/mage. see http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/dosw...e_ii_class.txt (go dual wielding celestial fury and Dak'kon's Zerth blade)

in response to your second queston a F/M/C is spreading yourself a little thin. think about it. if it takes you a certain time to level up w/ a single class character, it will take you 3 times as long w/ a triple class. they become a little more effective in tob but that means you waited through how many hours of soa w/ a low level character (its not worth it).

First off, i've used the berserk/thief dual and they do rock especially in SoA. Once you hit ToB, it won't be as powerful as a multi F/T but should still be strong w/ good immunities. The standard dual recommendations are 9 for SoA only and 12 or 13 w/ ToB. That way you should get your fighter abilities back with some time still to go on your game. Finally in regards to your second question, your stars do not stack. You get the higher of the stars for each weapon category. However, your example is not valid in that vanilla thieves can only place one star in any one weapon category.
Also if you are planning on using missle weapons with this character, Berserker is probably not the best option. They are limited to one * in missle weapons. If you insist on this character being a ranged fighter, i would suggest one of the many throwing weapons available (dagger, axe) as you can place more stars in those and they affect the thrown versions as well as the melee.

The reason I want a Beserker/Thief is that when I get the Use Any Item ability in ToB or even SoA, I want to allow my Bes/T to use the Holy Avenger +5 and other restricted items. I am playing a Kensai/Thief atm, however, he isn't that much fun. The no armour and no bracers rule make him a little dull.

If I was to go Fighter/Thief (Multi) what level will I be towards the end of SoA?

PS. I have played as a Paladin a couple of times, and being good is not my cup of tea. I always play evil. However, the HA +5 simply kicks butt.

your levels depend a lot on how many people in your party or whether you're soloing - a solo character can hit the 8M XP cap before the end of SoA if you're thorough

think about the fighter/thief multi if you're set on holy avenger swinging though - the access to fighter HLAs will more useful than grandmastery imo

i really like wizard slayer thief dual personally. its jsut so badass to have the magic resist and spell failures plus once you get use any item you become unstoppable. that might be my fav character ever, but berserkers are pretty nice

Berserker->Thief is a great setup if you want to build a strong Tank who can also slap on some good Leather armor and go stab somebody in the kidneys. You may also want to consider a Dwarven or Halfling Fighter/Thief for the same purpose, though: It's a tossup between whether you prefer the Berserker->Thief's immunities and Grandmastery, or the Fighter/Thief's THAC0 and Saving Throws.

When Dual-Classing, your weapon proficiencies DO NOT ADD. You cannot make a Cleric with * in Sling, then Dual to Mage and put a * in Sling, then magically get ** in Sling when your Cleric half reactivates. But this is a moot point in this case, since neither a Berserker nor a Thief can put more than a single star in a ranged weapon anyway.

To figure out the level at which you want to Dual, take the link in my sig, go to Appendix 1, and look up the EXP table. Take the EXP cap for the game you're playing, subtract the EXP needed to reach your Berserker level, and what's left will be the EXP you can invest in your Thief half. Figure the specifics out for yourself. It's not your character if you ask somebody else to design it for you.

F/M/Cs and F/M/Ts are generally held to suck, since they cannot reach 9th-level Wizard spells under the ToB cap, and for that reason they also never get any 10th-Level Wizard HLAs, thus severely handicapping their Mage component.

If you're planning a Berserker->Thief in order to choose UAI and swing Carsomyr, your Kensai->Thief can do that already. AND wear helms and gauntlets and armor.
