AFAIK, it's not about different locations; it's about how many times you've killed them (about 5-6 times not sure exactly now). The last time involves two powerful wizards with names. After you defeat them, they won't (or say won't dare to) bother you again.

best of all, they donate high level spells to your collection...
an involuntary donation, but gratefully accepted... you can get spell trigger, abi dahizim, prot from energy, freedom, prot from elements, globe of chaos and others...
