Let me ask the question in another way. You don't care anything about rescueing your bratty sister. What, in the game, forces AND/OR makes desirable going to the island that Spellhold is on? What other quests? SPOIL ME!

If you're not going there to rescue Imoen, there are precisely two reasons for going to Brynnlaw:
1) "Hey, that Irenicus dude hurt and insulted me. And if Imoen's face was any indication, I've probably got some dumb-lookin' scars too. Damn that Irenicus.
