Bhaalspawns are not like the immortals in Highlander. You are not supposed to kill all others, you are just supposed to become so powerful you have a right on Bhaal's throne. How to do that? By attacking that which challenges you, which certainly is not Imoen.

MAJOR ENDGAME SPOILERS (obviously)
. . . I was most disappointed with how things turned out (or, rather, didn't) with Imoen. Throughout the later parts of SoA and all of ToB, I kept expecting some big plot twist involving her Bhaalspawn heritage. My suspicions grew as _one_of_us_ had to give up part of our essence to Sarevok, then as she kept developing weird new powers. In the end - nada! My valleygirl sister just gives it all up. Pretty anti-climactic, if you ask me.

That's why she's such a wonderful, innocent character. You might want the power and all of that, giving parts of yourself bit by bit... but in the end, it's just her, Imoen. Innocent, but not naive. I like that about her. Balances nicely the TWO innocent AND naive *female* characters. I'd sure like to see an innocent and naive male char. I guess the Y chromosome protects against that in Faerun.
