Just a little side-note: you need BG2SoA & ToB for it to work, you need BG1 & TotSC for it to be legal. It enhances BGI up to the BGII standards, res. kits and stuff, ergo creating a new dimension of fun. Its not so buggy anymore since it was first released. Just install the patches and you're good to go.

Not with the new distribution that is. It does no longer have the BG1 movies which you need to cpoy manually from your BG1 discs. Now I know very well that you can cheat your way around this easily but talking common user you need BG1 to install BGT.
I for example have already downloaded a part of the old distribution and therefore gotten the movie files before they were taken out. I know I'm walking a thin line here, but I figured since I owned BG1 (lost my discs - rather had them lost by someone else ) I could use BGT to make up for my loss (after all I re-bought SoA+ToB after losing them)

AFAIK there's a mod in development called "The big picture" which will integrate BGT, Spine of the World and some other mini-mods into BG2.

Still under construction as is Icewind Gate II. These things take a lot of time to complete.

I didn't know about the movies being cut out of the BGT. I stopped playing it after patch 1.4 was released.

why did u stop playing? Its only in the new version of it that the movies are deleted. In the old one they are there.

I don't think Zuvio meant it that way that he stopped because the movies were cut out but rather that he downloaded the old version and therefore wouldn't know about the new distribution without the movies.
BTW why DID you stop playing Zuvio?

Back to topic: You can still download the old distribution (with the movies) via IRC or even download the movies as seperate files via IRC as it has (at least that I read on the TeamBG forum) turned out difficult for some people to extract the movies from their BG1 discs.

I stopped playing because I've finished BGI while the 1.4 patch was released and didn't really fancy going through the game again, just to get those precious tomes. The BGT is still installed though.

And besides, it was for reminiscence only, playing BGI again with better resolution and kits and all that. I'm anxiously waiting for Icewind Gate II now. Should be great fun.

It's out, although in beta version. See here.

sounds very buggy. Im pretty sure it wont be compatible with bgt yet anyway, someone will have to make a mod for that. Maybe this "big picture" thing will be out soon. Hopefully anyway

Of course Icewind Gate won't be compatible with BGT. BGT is a BG2 mod Icewind gate is an IWD2 mod.
To clear things up:
BGT = BG+TotSC+BG2+ToB modded into BG2+ToB
Icewind Gate = BG2 modded into Icewind Dale 2 (to use the 3rd ed. rules)
