I haven't made a video and tested only one instance, but with the 0914004 executable, I caused a skeleton to flee the map and the game just froze.

Yeah - the skeleton actually reaching the end of the map is where the problem occurs (he is fine until he gets there and actually tries to leave the map).

Paul, this is very easy to set up. I downloaded the file you posted and edited the level by taking away 2 walls, so that there isn't a surrounding wall. Basically I give the skeleton a route to flee down.
Do the same thing to your level and when the skeleton tries to flee the combat map, you'll see the game hang. I can still move the mouse around but no options show up. It appears that DC doesn't check a flag which would move the turn onto the next combatant. |

Great! Send me a savegame and a recording
that demonstrates this bug and we will see what we can do to fix it. If necessary, I can provide a place to upload the two files that are needed in addition to what you have already supplied. But you can probably ship them in an email. You can find my email address at the bottom of: http://www.dianneandpaul.net/DianneGenealogy/ =========== Sorry about being so adamant that YOU must provide the bug and test any fixes. I have spent over a decade getting CSBwin working and helping with DC. I have adopted these rules as absolutely necessary to my mental health and are the price that must be paid for my participation. I can justify this at great length in private if anyone wishes to be bored. |

Sorry, lack of time last night, too... Sigh...
Surely there will be a chance for me to help on the weekend...

G'day Paul,
I've sent the playfile log, a savegame and the edited level to your email address. One thing I did notice however was that "Dorf" does not appear to have a combat icon attached to him. So when you go to the combat map, he is invisible. It doesn't stop you from using him but just thought I'd let you know. |

Thanks, LurchBrick. (I did have some problems with Dorf's icon for some reason - not sure why, but there was a bug there. Something about DC not liking my icon, or my deleting it by accident at some point, or whatever. Not sure what caused it right now, so I don't know if I can do anything about it.)
Also, thanks Paul for trying! ![]()

Well, an hour's work leads me to
believe that I have a lot to learn. Don't expect any result right away. I have never examined the combat code before. Fortunately, I do have a feeling for the program's structure (I was responsible for some of it). But there are a lot of complications in the combat. Wow! |
