Yes, drunk driving is pretty bad, so is taking minors clubbing and letting them have alchool actually, and she had to be pretty drunk to end up in the wrong lane. But let's be honest here, you very very rarely die of a frontal collision when you're sitting behind, especially if the people in the front survived. The seatbelt would have made the difference. Seatbelt are done pretty much to protect against frontal collisions.

Only time will tell. Hopefully the paper tomorrow morning will have the details. Or the school administration will inform us or Garrett (his dad is a cop). |

...I remember much the same thing happening to me in high school...a guy I often had bad feelings toward smoked pot on the school bus on the way home...yeah, the bus driver was that negligent...I was completely disgusted, and made it known, and complained to my friends about it...then, about an hour an a half after I got off the bus, while driving past his stop, I saw a stopped train...
I found out that evening that the boy had been hit by a train four miles away from my house, and killed. A lot of bad things happen in the world because of chemical-induced negligence...I completely feel for you, man.

Same here, during school we had a lot of bad things happen. We had a year 12 student drown in the local lake, a kid in our year drowned in a dam at a golf course while drunk and running from guards, we had a female roll a car and become a parapledgic, and this year one of the girls that I went to school with (I wasn't good friends with her, but I knew her) smashed her car into a pole and the reason is unknown.
Seems these things happen to almost everyone, it's not fun/easy but it happens ![]() |

Damn, i feel pretty lucky. I have never known anyone my own age who has died. There was one guy in my time at high school - but i did not know him at all.
I guess it makes you realise that we are mortal, and you just never know what might happen tomorrow.

Mm so I just came back from the wake and I always just find those things too eery and morbid for me. There's something about a body on display that really freaks me out.
It was a rather emotional evening. Not to mention the damn media started showing up. These people have no consideration for anyone nowadays. Luckily I think they got the message as we were all quite hostile and they left right away. But still, the nerve of them to show up with their pencils and cameras and start asking the most inappropriate questions. A fitting end I guess? Not really, it is going to be awkward as hell for the rest of the year. But thankyou for the responses, it means a lot. |

Don't blame the media too much. They only print what people to read and death is probably one of the biggies. We're all fascinated to some degree by it.
It would be nice to see people not buy the paper when an article like that is in there, or even cancel their subscription. It just doesn't happen though. ...just remember, they don't care what they print as long as it sells ads! As far as the open casket that's ridiculous to me. If you care that much you should see the person in life, not in death. And forget about saying goodbye, or I'm sorry etc, it won't be heard.
