If you read the official post by Eyonix on the WoW official forums, you'll see that greater heal is being reduced to a 3 sec cast (2.5 with talents), PW:S was reduced to a 15 second weakened soul, and Holy Nova had it's cooldown removed to make it like arcane explosion.

Personally, I'm going to go 0-20-31 for a nice soloing build that can heal effectively in pre-raid instances and can holy nova

Priests are much, much better now, but it's mainly due to non-shadow changes.
Yeah like I said, shadow wasn't really messed with.

Well yeah, thats the point of a priest.
Took Blizz a year to realize it, or to realize that the priest had healing 'rivals'. Beforehand, resto. druids were about 95% as good as a priest and could substitute most raids without a hitch. In-combat rezzes are also useful.

Truth is, I'll just be glad to see all the "Nerf Warlocks" and "Nerf DC" and "Nerf SL" threads disappear from the Warlock forums and relocate to the Priest forums.

Don't bet on it. When I was still Shadow spec, I could beat down 'locks with ease, even ones 6 or more levels higher than me. I remember getting jumped from behind with only half mana by a level 60 when I was around 53-54 and I still beat his ass over and over again. Eventually he just gave up and left. Warlocks and Mages are cake for a Priest who knows how to play. Now Paladins, that's a whole different story. Damn mana burn takes way too long to cast.

Well, maybe we're just both really good players then.

Truthfully, though, I hit any mage or priest with the felpup and a Curse of Tongues immediately, and rarely see a spell go off afterwards. Just lots of running around in a circle. The felpup usually gets them so good that I can actually replace the Curse of Tongues with Agony and start stacking my DOTs.

Now if I've got another pet out, the scenario changes. Having an imp out when a mage start spamming me from behind sucks, for instance.

Well with cleanses, silence, mana burn, mind control, fear and the ability to heal, I have to say that other casters are rarely a problem for me as a (mostly) shadow priest.

Here's how I start off most caster battles:

Psychic Scream if pets are involved, Silence, Shadow Word : Pain, Devouring Plague, Vampiric Embrace

All of those are instant cast. Most casters are almost dead after all that, then I pop up an Improved Power Word : Shield, Renew, and then Mindblast, Mindflay, rinse and repeat. Drops them every time...so far at least. Dispel Magic/Abolish Disease for those nasty DoTs and debuffs.

Of course now I'm Disc/Holy so I usually just turn and run like the wuss I am.
