A search looks like A78X-MX is a motherboard, and you may be using the built-in sound. Is that the case?

How new is the CP?
Has the sound *ever* worked?
What was changed recently?

Well, there's a simple way to check. Open up your computer case, and check whether there is a sound card inserted in one of the PCI slots. (These are the PCI slots).

It'll probably be made by Creative, if there is one, so have a good look at any cards in there to check. If you can't figure it out, try taking a picture and someone on here might be able to identify it.

Did you, ahem,,, PAY for this CP service? If so, I recommend you return your CP to the tech for help.
How about..
1. The OEM of the sound card.
2. What kind of CP do you have..i.e., Dell, Sony, generic?
