No seriously carrying your loved ones remains around is not cool... no matter how much you loved them.

For a moment there, I had an image of a person lugging around a decaying corpse. Now that I have seen the website, I really do not see anything wrong. I mean, some people carry a bit of ashes( of their loved ones) around in a vial, diamonds is just the next step( more durable and long-lasting too).

Sureeee... it might seem creepy if a person starts pointing out a gem here and there and starts reciting, "This is Aunt Jenny, that is Uncle Tom, this is-...", but when it comes to the crunch, it really does not matter.

The only way I can see this in a negative light is if the cremated one specifically said beforehand that he/she does not want to become a diamond.

Those would be good for serial killers to keep track of body counts and look good on those special occasions!

Got to admit, its alot easier to lose/get stolen than an urn though.

Stolen yes... because nobody in his/her right mind will want to steal an urn of ashes anyway.

"Let me get this straight mdm. The burglar stole your mother and placed her in his pocket?"

Easier to lose though, is subjective. If the urn spills onto somewhere wet... well... not good. However, if a diamond lands somewhere wet, it is no problem.

Awwww... but diamonds are so pretty!

Just jesting, but beyond the 'creep' factor, I think there is nothing wrong with it. Besides... you do not need to wear it. You can just keep it in a container. Ashes will decay eventually, but diamonds will last thousands of generations.

Is it possible to have the soul of the deceased placed inside the diamond as well? And mind you, if you have a gem like this (with the soul in it) fixed to the hilt of a sword, it will become a +2 to hit/damage sword.

It is interesting to note that, in the Buddhist tradition (cool down please, I'm not proselytising), people who have attained to great heights of virtue and wisdom are sometimes said to leave behind little gems among their ashes after cremation. These gems are supposed to be indestructible and are called sarira, and they are treasured as holy relics. I haven't seen any sarira firsthand, but this is what I've read and heard. Wonder if the whole idea of a LifeGem could have been inspired by this.
