This week my computer crashed which has now led to me losing all stuff on hard drive, including save games for BG2. Can anyone recommend way of starting game later on or some other help as I would prefer not to have to go through all early stuff again. I had done most of major quests up to Windspear Hills area. I really would appreciate any help.

You could have someone e-mail you a saved game from about where you were. You could use shadowkeeper to edit in the items you had obtained. That's about as close as you could get in my estimation.
