Last night while playing IWD, my computer crashed and I had to reload my OS and all my IWD software. This stinks because I had a character with 98 stat points that I really liked and now it's gone, and I have to start over!!! Right now I'm downloading ToTL off FilePlanet. It's taking forever!!! ARGH!!!!

Too Bad Otto. I have had crashes with Win 98 that required reinstalling but not to the point I had to reinstall any other programs. That sure hurts.

Sorry to hear it, Otto. That blows.

OTOH, you now probably have more knowledge of the game than ever before, so creating more parties shouldn't be a problem.

For the future - you'll probably do this anyway, without me saying so - try backing up your saved games onto a cd every so often. I back up my school stuff once a month, and usually back up my saved games from that month as well.

Sorry to hear that. It's happened to me, and it really sucks. What happened to the computer to require a full system wipe? Mine just got choked with spy and adware.

Otto,
You're just a stupid fool. I'm sick of hearing from you about stuff that has nothing to do with gameplay.

Just kidding. Sorry about your rotten luck.

Otto you never did tell us anything about your computer and what caused the crash.

I think it had to do with upgrading from Win 98 to Win XP. I have a Compaq 5441 that I tried to upgrade, and I don't think it liked the new OS. So, I reinstalled Win 98 and now it works again.

Before XP installs it checks your system did it do that first?

Yeah, it did check the system first. The XP installation (which took a long time) seemed to go o.k., and I was even able to play IWD with it for a little while. Then, all of a sudden, C*R*A*S*H!!! Nothing worked. I couldn't even get the thing to boot up in safe mode. So I reinstalled the original OS, and now everything works fine.

By the way, jmsteven, I think you're a bit of a jerk, and you talk off-topic all the time.

Also, just kidding.
