This ridiculous new guy (me) has, I am sure, some painfully obvious questions. I know next to nuthin about this stuff. While playing Shadows of Amn and gaining levels, I have NOT gotten any more than, say three hit points per level, for any of my party -- wizard, fighter, thief, doesn't matter, they don't get more than about three. Weird, because I remember the first Baldur's gate, where you could get ten or eleven points for fighters. I usually save the game right before going for another level, but no matter how many times I try, I get the same just about every time. What gives?
Also, my reputation doesn't budge. I started with 12, and no matter how many 'good deeds' I do my rep stays the same. Is it me? Some help would be greatly appreciated. The Bender |

Your HP increases by a larger amount up to level 10. Up until there, your hp per level is the character's hit die plus con bonuses. After level 10 you only get a fixed, smaller amount of hp. It can be 1-3 depending on your class, IIRC. Also, your reputation only increases when you do some good deeds, not all.

Well first of all, once you pass level 9 you only get a certain number of hitpoints per level no matter how high your constition. For fighter types it is 3 thieves and bard 2, and mage types 1 (I think.) And as for the reputation if you have enough cash floating around you can donate to a temple to boost your repuation considerabley. Other than that there are quite a few quests that do give you a reputation point

Spoiler
' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' The trademeet quests can get you rep points, as well as the slaver quests. On the slaver boat/hq there are a bunch of children you free, give em some gold, (500 I think) and it'll get ya a point!

Exactly it is 100 gp - you give it to a girl (or maybe boy) that you save from one or two trolls in a place reminding a fighting pit. It gives you a point. Other rep. giving quests are circus (do not forget to talk to the soldier outside the tent after the completion, and to a boy next to him) that gives you 2 points overall, Trademeet (2-3 points) and some others, I cannot recall now. Good luck and welcome to Ironworks!
