Anyone play it?

I've had a few old games about that I bought yearsago but my old PC couldn't handle them. So since there isn't much out there new nowadays, I've decided to play them. First off was Divine Divinity, finished that a few days ago (got to level 51).

Now I'm on Beyond Divinity, which is similar but they changed quite a lot of features, some I like and some I don't so much LOL.

Again, anyone play it? If so, what was your take on it?

I didn't like it. It wasn't a traditional fantasy game.

When I read about being paired up with a deathknight, my first reaction was "Wow! I can't wait to see what interesting banters this will create with the people in town!".

But no. Not only are you stuck in a crappy world populated by imps and such, there is pretty much no dialogs. Even the Deathknight himself has pretty little to say. You're a Paladin, he's the incarnation of evil, but he doesn't have anything to say when you help people.

I thought the dungeons pretty much sucked too. It was too fake. Even the caves are straight hallways with littered stuff all over the place. This level in particullar was really bad, but every one of them didn't feel right.

I too recently reinstalled the game, played up to the imp town part, went to do one of the battlefield and gave up in disgust after a couple of rooms. The whole game feel like a randomly generated clickfest. Even leveling up my characters didn't seem fufilling, as the world I was interacting with was bare.

I liked the first game, but this one is just horrible.

Yes Divine Divinity is much better. Much more content and love was put into that game. And it just looks better, the graphic art is so cool in it. Its about a 9/10 and makes my top 10 best crpgs ever....

Beyond divinity seemed related to the infinity engine games somewhat in interface. I also didnt finish it it didnt draw me in.
