Pray for Miracle? Any Good?

Hello,
I was wondering if any of you ever got anything good out of the pray for miracle option for the priest. The best I got was a character healed. Is there anything else?

The reason for the question is that I´m thinking of turning my priest into a bishop (L12) in order to get the ofensive spells and I would loose this option. Is it any good?

From memory:

More often than not you get "The prayer goes unaswered" otherwise:

* Light Heal: One of your characters get healed, usually when he has only lost a very few hitpoints.

* Rest All: The stamina of your characters get restored, usually when you least need it.

* A lump sum: You get 100gp, "No shit ? Now I have 651,100 GP!"

* Bless: Like the spell but always at the very top power level.

* (very rarely): Elemental Shield + Soul Shield + Magic Screen! "Come on Juggernauts, cast your spells!"

*Banish: Like the spell. Works only when there are undead nearby (No I am not confusing with Turn Undead)

Totally unreliable, it is really a miracle if something remotely usefull happens. Rather cast a spell, at least you practice your skills,...

In addition to the things that Warhammer mentioned I get Gaurdian Angel quite often. I have found that it is better to pray when you are a little farther into the fight as instead of at the beginning. If all of your characters are at full strength it seems there is more of a chance for the prayer to go unheard. Also the priest has Turn Undead which can come in handy. I find myself using the prayer when I have accomplished most other beneficial task that my priest can perform. LOL

You're much better off with a bishop, who can learn some decent offensive spells, turn undead like a priest, and automatically uncurse items. They do develop more slowly, but are worth the effort.

In my country, there is this bin Ladden associated terrorist group called Abu Sayaf that is known for kidnap for ransom.

One day, a group of evangelists went to see the Abu Sayaf and "Prayed for Miracles" hoping to stop them from their terroristic activies. Instead, they got themselves abducted. After several weeks, and several millions of Thomas Jeffersons that "Prayed for Miracle" for them, they were release. when asked about it "It was Prayer that released them"... asked if they'd go again, they avoided the question...

LOL.. I guess that is what "Pray for Miracles" can do, real life or fiction like W8.
