i have tried a fair bit and the only way i have found is to turn into the slayer, which it then askes if i want to sacrifice part of my soul, i accept and turn into the slayer. after balor is dead, my PC starts taking lage amounts of damage, and i dont know why. he eventually dies. this isnt a bug, does anyone know of any other ways to defeat balor, i dont really care if it is a bit cheesy or munchkin

You take large amounts of damage as you lose yourself to the slayer and the Bhaal essence consumes you from within. You can avoid the damage (though you still die) with Prot Magic Energy (I think that's the one).

The best way is simply to switch back once the balor is dead

Then you don't die.

If you don't want to Slayer him to death, then just chop 'em into pieces with a hasted fighter wielding a +3 weapon. I've never really needed to resort to magic really...

do i suffer any penalties once i have decome the slayer, like after i change back to human, will i loose any stats or future opportunities since i became the slayer?

No, or at least not that I know of. The only thing you will lose is 2 reputation points.

that sucks, do you need to become the slayer often? because i never seem to have enought money to give to churches

You never have to become the Slayer, ever. It is only if you believe the 2 reputation point loss is worth it. I usually never become the slayer.

You dont *need* to become the slayer at all. I have played through the whole game a fair few times and never turned into the slayer.

The only time I have turned into the slayer was:

To fight Kangaxx

Any other time I turned into it was when I played an evil character so I could kill innocents in the form of the Slayer (Ah memories).

If you want reputation complete quests that reward you will reputation points (for example saving innocents etc...)

Turning into the Slayer isnt a requirement though, its just an ability
