NWN1 Druid leveling problem?

I just bought the NWN1 diamond edition recently and was having fun playing. I had gotten my first character up to Druid 5 / Shifter 5 when I decided to restart after reading an online Shifter FAQ.

My new character is going to be a Druid/Shifter/Dwarven Defender... however I have just hit level 3 (yeah I know - just the prelude) but I did not get any level 2 spells?! Is there any legit reason a level 3 druid would not get access to level 3 spells? I've tried resting and they have not appeared. My wisdom is only 10, charisma 6 - could either be a problem? I'm scratching my head here because my first character got level 2 druid spells upon reaching level 3.

As a druid, you need Wisdom to cast spells, yes. Your base wisdom should be 11 allowing you to cast level 0 and 1 spells. A wisdom of 12 allows you to cast level 2 spells as well. It takes 19 wisdom (and sufficient levels) to cast level 9 spells, but again, only your base wisdom counts (the bonus from spells, potions and magic items boosts other parts of the spell casting).
