Any one try the Valen vamp mod?

I saw this mod and was wondering if it would be a good one to use for my first time through. I heard she is pretty powerful but does anyone know how powerful? I dont want it to be too easy my first time through.

If this is your first time, I recommend against using any mods. Except, naturally, patches and fixes from Dundee's newcomers thread.

I have been using Valen, and I must say that she is quite powerful. She has innate charming powers, level drains with hits, and depending on the difficulty setting, she turns into mist when her HP gets to 50% I believe. Having her in a full party definately makes the game easier. She is also a pretty good thief, I am using her as my only thief and have not had any difficulty opening doors or locks. The mod also has a new fighter kit called anti-paladin. Its basically an evil inquisitor. Right now my party is:

Me -- anti-paladin
edwin
viconia
valen

It works very well.

I've tried this once and I must say I don't recommend using Valen for your first game. Without giving any spoilers, she can cause some encounters to go in ways that will get you into trouble if you are not familiar with the way the game works. I'd complete at least one game before using her.

Note that I'm not saying don't install the mod - go ahead, especially if you want to play an anti-paladin. Just don't take her into your party.

Yes, but I'm not sure it will do you any good if you are actually through with the SoA part.

She can be utilised in ToB, but she has no dialogue, and the fate spirit cannot summon her, she has to be imported using the "Import Game" function from ToB!
