Worried Spooky Tornado sirens... I remember those [video]

When I lived up in Louisville, Kentucky we would hear them sometimes, and since then, just hearing one gives me goosebumps! Scary shit, and In 1974 I remember my parents taking me under the house for a time during one.. probably hate them from some subconscious area because of that---in 74, an EF4 hit 3-4 miles from our house but I was like.. um, 2 lol. scary!

What sucks bad is we don't have ANY here in Florida where I live. Totally stupid. Not everyone is watching TV or listening to whatever radio... I researched these sirens and most are old Thunderbolt T1000's --cold war relics use for tornado warnings these days... Anyway, if you remember this sound, make the screen full, turn it up and listen.

Ignore the "Tornado Warning Bitches comment this guy wrote.. lol the footage just struck me as cool, because I would go out when the siren went off when I was older.. LOOKING for it! hehe yeah, smart..

At the last 30 seconds, you can CLEARLY see the rotation area (white lower clouds).. That was over Cherokee Park in Louisville Cherokee Triangle October 18, 2007

We've been through 4 Hurricanes (3 in 2 months time) and the wind is insane. But Tornado's are a MUCH bigger threat to me... I'm sure we'll be getting some crazy weather here soon.. yey. I have a weather radio, and can read a live Doppler radar (looking for 'the hook echo' (what the radar image signature looks like onscreen. Been lucky so far!

If you live in a crazy weather area--hell, these days, it can happen anywhere. Get a cheap weather radio and set it up in the house. Most tornadoes DO occur in the night. (While you're sleeping). With a radio, set it by the bed or somewhere close.. It's saved many lives.

I'll take a hurricane over a tornado anytime. You get a week's warning while you watch it coming, so if it looks too strong you can pack the family & pets and hit the road. Tornados just appear, destroy, and leave, usually in minutes.
