I know there's not gonna be another one and that makes me angry!!
I find the baldur's gate series (1&2) extremely good. I mean I tried to play Icewind Dale, but i just can't do it without the npc's joining your party (character interaction and all that). Of course you can solo it, but you still can't seriously compare it to BG 1 or 2. I duno about Icewind dale 2, but still why should the saga be ended? Comon people I mean there are so many things that can happen!!! Before you choose to be a god (3rd test in your poket plane?) Cyrick warned you not to bekome one. In an expansion it would be great to face chalanges by Cyrick and or his followers. Maybe you could get some training on being a god from some of the other deities acording to your proffession (Azuth for mages/sorcs) in order to be prepared to take on Cyrick, winners take all? There is enough stuff that the makers of BG &BG 2 could use for a possible expansion. Maybe another time of troubles who knows. Until then I would like to hear some of your ideas about an expansion! Let's see what you have to say!!!

I liked the conclusion of the BG Saga. Just play NWN instead of BG.

Who says that the BG series has to revolve around a certain Bhall Spawn? Couldn't there just as well be another game, using the asme engine, and the same format, and perhaps a few of the same locales, with an entirely different stroy (much like IWD2 compared to IWD1)? The Game would have to be made almost from scratch (enirely different NPCs), but wouldn't the premise be the same? I personally would love to see another Baldur's Gate game, perhaps venturing New Amn, seeing as how throughout the series, we've been to BG in the Waste Lands (I think that's what it's called), Amn, and Tethyr. What do you think?

Unfortunately, it appears IWD2 is the last Infinity Engine game . *Everybody* think (I wonder who) that Infinity Engine is 5 years old and very obsolete. So we should move to 3D graphics.
But I (and some of you) find graphics of IE games the best. I just hope there will be much mods for these games or we shall not have anything to play. What do you propose? To spam Interplay with "WE WANT MORE INFINITY" mails? P.S. Manshoon? What is manshoon? [ 10-01-2002, 03:22 AM: Message edited by: Vedran ]

IE engine was just too arhaic, as far as I am concerned. I think that the NWN engine is OK, although it needs some improvements as well (i.e. to show robes like the robes should be, add cloaks etc). Toolset could be enhanced too, to allow to use all the properties on items, which were used in BG-series and IWD series.
Other then that, it would only take some time - and not very long one, actually - to create another "epic saga" on NWN engine, with all the side quests and what not else. After all, they have now the working platform, so it's about the time to start improving it some and then creating something great and goon on it ![]()

The problem with NWN is that, as I've heard, it is designed towards MP, and I want a good&old singleplayer nirvana, such as the BG [I-II] one
And, after all, not everybody have computers that will allow NWN to run (forget about smoothness, my ultimate task is to run it on a Celeron 333!). I think some of you are as limited as I am, and will understand me! Finally, I do feel addicted to that Bhaalspawn plot, and that's lethal I think it is one of the best fantasy concepts ever made. Even J.R.R. Tolkien hasn't impressed me more! Maybe what they could do is to make a game from another bhaal spawns life, like Sarevok or Illasera?

Its like the Opposing Force Half-Life add-on - you go through all the events from the opposing side of the conflict. Sarevok strived well to gain his powers and plan the war. And, after all, role-playing Sarevok will be a decent evil RP experience! SoA lacks evil quests IMO.
