Dnloaded Baldurdash fix.
It does not find a working BG2 installation (my game works perfectly though!) Extracted all files in override folder, overwriting any present files. But now if I decide to uninstall? Uninstaller does not work also!

Eh? Extract what files? The Baldurdash Fixpack is downloaded as an .exe file.

It's Just an ordinary ZIP file that was made executable. If you open it with WINZIP you see it's contents!

I just double-checked. The Fixpacks are downloaded as .exe files, not as WinZip files. However, unless you have a backup of your original override folder, you might to consider reinstalling the game at this point, since I have no idea what you just placed in your override folder.
If you do not have ToB installed, get the Official SoA Patch first, then get the Baldurdash SoA Fixpack v3.61. If you do have ToB installed, get the Official ToB Patch first, then get the Baldurdash ToB Fixpack v1.12. |

Darthiir, you should download the thing that says "Fixpack", the description says it is all the fixes compiled into one self-installing executable.
What you have done I think is to just download one of the fixes, and not the entire fixpack. Thus, download the relavant fixpack, the one that says "All the below fixes in one self-installing executable". |

Friends, Just rightclick fixpack.exe and ask to open with winzip. All zipped executable files can be accessed this way. You will see All the files in it.
It is just an executable zip that autoextracts it's files in the folder %game%\override My problem is as to what does it do when it sees an unreadable file as there are some in that folder.

I see, but I do not think it is advisable to do it that way. Could you post the error message?
ADD] Ah yes, forgot to ask. Have you modded the game in any way prior to installing the Fixpack? Besides the Official Patch of course. [ 09-30-2002, 06:27 AM: Message edited by: Dundee Slaytern ] |

The error message is: Unable to find any working installation of the Game. The game is installed in the default folder. In my laptop though that I've installed it in \games\Blackisle\BG2 SoA it works perfectly!
and I have only the last official patch - full installation

Hmmmm... this might seem drastic, but I have had similar problems with Icewind Dale as well. During the installation of the game, some files were not copied correctly from the CD, requiring me to reinstall the entire thing.
Backup any save game folders that you have and uninstall the whole game. Remember to delete any residue folders left behind by the uninstallation, then reinstall in the following order. 1) SoA 2) SoA Official Patch 3) SoA Fixpack 4) Paste in your save game folders. |
