Question Mark Sourceforge woes

Is there something going on with the sourceforge website? I mean I put in a request for a feature "password event expansion", then tried to add a comment and it froze up Internet Explorer. Then I tried getting on a couple of more times over the past week and the same thing happened. Just today I tried to use the link from yahoo to the UAF wiki (on sourceforge) and if froze IE again.

Well, I never use Internet Exploder unless I have to.

I've been moving around the DC site on SourceForge all morning without any troubles at all. I believe that the comment system is for SF users, i.e. you have to be logged in; and it might be that it's for developers only.

If you respond with your comment, I'll put it in for you.

You should be able to view the Wiki, if not make changes to it. I know that you have to be registered for the changes, but don't have to be a developer (I have a little more control over this feature).

Ok, well the idea I had was to enable the "enter password" event to have a little more use than just one password. The idea was to allow 2 option changes to the standard event, the ability to mark "automatic success" like you can do with a quest event and the ability to save the password entered in a GDPL function for testing via logic block. The second one will be more difficult than the first, as you want it to be saved to a value that the designer could test for (such as "$LOGIC_BLOCK_VALUE").

This should allow testing for more than one password, and allow mini-conversation events

So, I guess its just my machine or my software or something. Regardless of what I do on the Sourceforge site, if I'm doing something DC related there or just looking, if I open anything other than the first page at sourceforge (like a link to the feature request page) it opens a blank window and freezes internet explorer. Internet explorer worked fine up until recently. Maybe till January, even. But now it closes everytime.

this trouble with IE is one (of many) reasons I continue to speak ill of Microsoft

Is this trouble just with the SF site? If it is, you should contact the site admins. If it isn't, you should switch to firefox.
Actually, you should switch to firefox anyways. Just don't delete IE, or windows will get all cranky.

Time to DL firefox. I plan to do it sometime today, becuz I want to put in feature and bugfix requests.
Eventually, I want to get familiar enuff with C++ programming that I could submit code and Tarlanon could approve/clean up and add it into future releases. So as to not make potential conflicts with more than 1 programmer, I'd stay in the scripting department for code.

ps, I found a free C++ tutorial site, so now I'm going thru this rather than saying "someday I wanna do..."

Good luck with the c++. Keep us updated on how it's going. And, if you find any good tutorials, especially about MFCs, post a link.

As a newbie to firefox, I wouldn't recommend downloading firefox 3, RC1; go with version 2 until 3 is official and ready for the masses.

For some strange reason, firefox rans soooo slow that it took forever to laod anything. Then, IE ran slow as well. I think it is just microsoft solidifying thier position with "automatic updates" that "fix" your computer.

So, after the wifey complained enuff I said take it back off.

Looks like the Sourceforge Woes have gone away. I dunno why I had the problem with getting on this site B4 and my IE freezing, but it does not now.

Lots going on right now, as in we are selling off all of our stuff we have lying around and may be moving soon. I'll be updating you all about this as soon as I know.
