XTHost Provider
As I mentioned before, I am using this provider for my DC page, and it is pretty nice.
Some of its advantages: 30 MB space Instant setup (no e-mail confirmation) Unlimited bandwidth No limits on file uploads No ads However, it does have some weird disadvantages: Your Web page will disappear if it is not visited in 7 days File uploads (zip, etc.) go to a special screen to download The weirdest disadvantage of all is that apparently some words are bad, and if your pages have these words in them, they won't upload. So far, I have found one word: "vortex"... No idea why that is such a bad word. But there are others... Just for reference, I will put a list here for those using this server to check (updated as I find more): Deface Vortex

As further testament, I have also started using this service for some personal sites (stuff that I know will be visited at least every 7 days by me).
I haven't discovered any words yet...I'll have to try harder.

Well, if you try to upload a text or html file, and it basically rejects the file for some reason, there is likely a filtered word in the file... and that is when you start the menial process of trying to find what it is.
 (I've only had it happen to me with files that have LOTS of text - so the chance might be slim.)

I delete half of the file and then try to upload it again; if it succeeds, that means the word is in that half of the file; if not, it is in the other. You then do this over and over again, until you find the culprit

That sounds tedious and a bit obsessive compulsive - right up my alley.
 I feel like I should start tracking down which words they won't allow. Maybe the next time I have the hankering to play solitaire, I'll do that instead.

The "v" word?
I am actually rather bewildered by the choice of this word by them... Why would it be considered bad?Anyway, I have at least two files that are not uploading because of some stupid reason, so I will have a new word or two for the list soon...
