Some problems...

I apologize for my first post being a request for assistance, first off.

Second, I have looked through the multitude of posts looking for an answer but either I skimmed over it or just plain didn't see it.

Now... on to the problems. I'm playing on winXP SP 2, Pentium 4 2.7 with a gig of Ram. For some reason from the beginning town I am unable to open the gate to the right and I cannot seem to go to the magic shop. Is there a fix for this or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you need to do the Virtualdub fix from the Tech Tips Thread.

It is item:
4.1 - Can´t enter buildings in town (this includes the use of gates)(win2000/XP)

As this is going to affect everybody who uses Windows 2000 or Windows XP: perhaps we should make this "sticky"? Tell users that they should always be able to enter all six buildings in Valeia and they should always be able to exit both gates. Then direct them to the technical tips section, page 1, part 6.1:
