version issues....

This is probably a newbie problem, but I need some help anyway....
I'm currently running version 913 of DC, when I checked the updates via the "Check for updates online" option from my Start Menu, I naturally found one (version 914). I let the program download the update and installed it. Imagine my surprise when I ran DC and it still said version 913. I was like "hmm" and went and found a install for 914, downloaded it, installed it. And I found that I had -two- versions of the programs in my Programs Folder: "UAF" (which I always had) -and- "Dungeon Craft". Naturally I was confused. I uninstalled and reinstalled both "dc" -and- "uaf" several times, I even installed "DC" without "UAF" and I found that when I attempted to run a Design on the "DC Editor" I couldn't. The Design loads just fine, but when I try to run it the program gave me a message: "Unable to find and load config.txt file." Then it gives me a black screen that says "NO DESIGNS AVAILABLE ON C: DRIVE, PLEASE PRESS ENTER TO EXIT" "UAF" runs just fine but it's still version 913. It seems like when I try to install just "DC" version 914, I'm not installing the complete program. I tried doing everything I can think of before posting, nothing works. I realize that this is probably just a simple problem, like I'm not installing it into the right folder or something. But as you can guess, it's a bit maddening. I'm not a computer idiot, but I just need a little help.
How the devil do I upgrade Dungeon Craft?

Hi FD, long time no see.
First read this, it's a step-by-step that Tarlanon wrote.
Second, make sure that all instances of "Program Files" in your config.txt are changed to "progra~1"
Third make sure that all instances of "progra~1\UAF" are changed to "progra~1\DungeonCraft".

One thing about the way DC works is that it stores two copies of the config.txt that are used in each design - the one used by all in the base directory, and the one specific for that design in the design folder. (There is actually another instance in the DefaultArt folder, but is only called if you have changed away from the 640x480 resolution and are changing back.)

If this doesn't get you good to go, please post again.

Glad it worked.

For the next release, the config.txt issues should be fixed, and we hope to automate the other stuff.

I try to keep DC current, but i'd forget my own head if it wasn't attached....
BTW, is there a mailing list for the new updates?
