I was browsing YouTube earlier today, when I found that someone combined the voice-over from a Lord of the Rings trailer with footage from Wing Commander 3. The result is both bizarre and hilarious, and can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hNPQ...elated&search=

Cool. I went link-hopping and found a fansite where they completed a project and compiled all the footage of WC3 into one cohesive movie. This is awesome! I love the WC3 clips.

Can't wait to watch it once it downloads.

WC3 was great, but I dare say that Wing Commander 4 was even better. It had a 12 million dollar budget, real sets, a better story and was much more interactive. Speaking of Wing Commander, has anyone heard of the new Wing Commander Saga project? A standalone fanmade sequel that uses the Freespace 2 engine (although the game itself is not needed). http://www.wcsaga.com/

Woooo~! I finally finished watching the fan-compiled WC3 movie (all 2 hours of it ), and it reminded me again why I love that game so much.

I was also glad to see that the fans who made it shared my opinion that the Chief Engineer, Rachel, was a much better romantic interest than that airhead, Flint. ^^; Although I think it was a bit cruel of them to have Flint killed in the final mission. ^^;

Rachel was lots of fun because of her verbal banter with Blair. It was often a hoot. I remember how it was always a must to visit Rachel as soon as I got back from my missions, although I did always annoy her at times because I insisted on configuring my fighter my way.

The movie also reminded me how much I loathed Cobra, and even though she was "right" in the end about Hobbes, I was still glad that she was dead so that I wouldn't need to hear her say, "I told you so." Haha.

I had a lot of fun revisiting my memories watching the movie. They even included the extra video of Hobbes' final parting words to Blair, which was not in the game (you had to watch the video from elsewhere).

Cheers.

I still have a copy of it lying around. Used to replay it in holidays. I think Wing Commander 3 is about four to five CD's in size, while WC4 has six to eight.
