Has anyone tried this? I know earlier games (Civ III) will work without a problem, but I was wondering if I'd be able to play NWN or Oblivion or FIFA 2006 or something on an external HD. I have a 120GB external HD with 7200RPM.

Hell no, I would not install any decent games on external drives, they are just way too slow....
Maybe when USB 3.0 comes out or something

I have seen the quality of a home video on my harddrive come out too choppy on DVD to sell to the lady whose wedding it was that I filmed because of the USB export. I do not know if buying a high-quality cable (monster cable) would help me improve the output or not, but if I decide to try it, I'll let you know how it goes.
