Do you generally like older games or newer games? Older games meaning N64/early playstation and earlier.

Only new if it´s an action game because then graphics matter alot but if it´s a RPG I can play both old and new

As a PC gamer, I would always go for the latest titles but while in waiting, I might install some older games just to pass some time.

This generally irratates my wife very much everytime she catches me playing old games.

"Look at the horrible graphic... this game must have been very very old" or "Didn't you, like, finishing this game many many times already?".

And of course, the worst of the all would be "If you don't have any good games to play, why don't you spend a little more quality time for the children?!".

I like some old games (BG, IWD,) becuase of the gameplay not graphics. I like some new (Doom 3, Half-Life 2) becuase of the graphics.

Yeah, it depends on what game it is, I pulled my playstation out of the dust the other day and have decided to finish Final Fantasy 7 & 8 again, but I got Doom III today and will have to finish that too.

I have yet to find game that have the balance and playability of some of old goldies. Graphics is really not important to me, it's only an added bonus. What I want a game to show me is gameplay, AI, options. Altho Half-Life 2 has worse graphics than Doom III on all promo materials, but the game's physics, AI and all the little stuff had me vexed. Have you watched the HL2 30-minute video? That' sick! The work of a programmer in a game is more important to me than the work of a designer, because a beautfly designed game with almost no gameplay and terrible feel is worth nothing, but a masterfully crafted engine can be sold for a great big sack of money! All those after-stuff like expansions really pay out too.

Super NES was the best. Come to think of it, I had some great times with my old Atari 800!!! They just don't make 'em like they used to. Too much focus on graphics and not enough focus on gameplay.

I go with old games. I don't have a whole lot of time to play, so it usually takes me a while to finish each game and get tired of it. By that time, games that were on my wishlist have become "old" already.

I am strictly a PC gamer.

what i do like is that old games don't have a good save feature, it gives you more respect for the game, like eg maxpayne, i quicksave at every corner, it would be a lot better if you couldn't do that, harder, but better
