If I let my kensai reach a higher lvl like say 15 when I duel it to mage will it let the mage reach lvl 19?. Is lvl 7 chosen because its easy to get to?.

No. Not unless you have ToB, because the total XP of both classes is counted against the cap. Most people dual at lvl 9 (extra weapon proficiency), or 12 if they have ToB. Waiting much longer than that is generally not recommended because it will be harder to get back your Kensai lvls.
FYI, if you do not have ToB and you wait past lvl 9 to dual you WILL NOT be able to reach lvl 17 as a mage. [ 09-11-2002, 04:46 PM: Message edited by: Lharae ]

Lvl 9 is probably the best, because you get the best of a fighters high HP, but still have a high level mage.

Thanks. I tried it out usin cheats and duelin at lvl 7 then kitted him out. pretty powerful. Simlar to what I reckon the Asha'men and Rand Al'Thor would be like in a game(Wheel of TIme books).

Actually, it is lvl 9 without ToB, and lvl 13 with ToB.
SoA Only: ---- The Exp Cap is 2,950,000. This means Mages can only reach lvl 17. Therefore, dualling at lvl 7 means ----> 7/17 Dual at lvl 9 means ----> 9/17 Ergo, you still maximise your Mage class, but gain an additional weapon proficiency, 2 more lvls of Warrior Hp, and better THACO. Dualling at lvl 9 is much, much better than levelling at lvl 7. You can work this out using the Exp table if you do not believe this. With ToB: ---- The ideal level is at level 13. No contest. |
