I was siting here, Leistoning to the Brave New World CD. I realized just good Maiden really is. Amazing song writers. Great Muscians, Bruce Dicksons voice is amazing. Uses it really well.

But,

Do they beat out Old (yes I said OLD) Metallica for the Kings of Metal?

Metallica is good, older stuff anyway. With stuff like "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and "One" , and Kirk Hammets powerfull Guitar Solos, Lars Ulrich pounding drumming.

I think Iron Maiden wins by a bit..There songs just are so amazing, you can so get an image of what Bruce is tlaking about, but at the same time have no damn clue what he is talking about.

What do you think?

I prefer 'OLD' Metallica to Maiden.
In fact, I love 'Old' Metallica, Ride the Lightning was my favorite album. Maiden are OK, but don't quite do it for me in the same way. I find Dickinson's voice a bit whiney, although he does have a great range. (sorry Bruce!)

Depends on the mood. Metallica when I'm feeling melencholy, Iron Maiden when I just want to rock. I do like the bassist from Iron Maiden better though. (he rocks. I fully plan to model myself after him when I learn to play!)

They both have good songs but I'll take Maiden over Metallica. And John D I'm first and foremost a Sabbath fan before all others! Ozzy is good on his own, but his Sabbath days....well they ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
