This little gem was sent to me years ago by my brother and I finally found it once again!

"if lotr were written by someone else ----- it would be ridiculously stupid"

Here's my response to the title

If LotR was written by someone else, then we would just worship that respective person, instead of Tolkien. IT's vague. You never said, "If Lotr was written by someone else in their own way "

Loooop hoooole!

""Gandalf, Gandalf! Take the ring!
I am too small to carry this thing!"

"I can not, will not hold the One.
You have a slim chance, but I have none.
I will not take it on a boat,
I will not take it across a moat.
I cannot take it under Moria,
that's one thing I can't do for ya.
I would not bring it into Mordor,
I would not make it to the border."

-excerpt from Dr. Suess's FOTR."

LMAO.

Very clever.

If Robert Jordan had written LotR, he'd be on book 12 and the ringbearers wouldn't have reached Mordor yet.

This thread is quite funny...

If the boy who wrote Eragon wrote Lotr, the main characters would have been knocked out 8 ways from sunday.

Jordan? He'd be on book 12 and the ringbearers would still be in the Shire talking about how they don't understand women or men and tugging at their hair.

Yes, but in return we would have had several dozen graphic descriptions of what they had for breakfast.
