I don't know what's wrong with my computer, but I tried going to a few sites where a movie would play for me on the site, but it doesn't work anymore, although I still get sound.

For example, I can't look at my Viking Kittens, Old Spice commercials or Dancing Bananas anymore, but I still hear the music playing.

How can I fix this annoying problem?

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I, too, have a problem with videos playing in my browser.

If the browser uses quicktime the movie will buffer just fine but when it uses Windows Media Player it will play for a few seconds, then buffer again over and over. Why is this? What should I do?

BTW I have a 0.5 Mbit connection.

Mine does that bjorn, and I thought it was because WMP starts up right away and so the file might not have enough time to fully load, so you're coming to the end of what's been loaded and have to wait for the load to go further. Quicktime waits until like 75% of the file is downloaded before it starts, so there is no chance of catching up to it before it ends the download.

Yeah I Figured it was something like that. Also, in quicktime you can rewind and pause and stuff like that, I can't do that with WMP.

Have you solved it somehow or do I have to live with it?

The only thing I've been able to do is hit stop on the play of the movie on WMP until I think enough time has passed as to have downloaded the movie. Then when I hit play, it runs all the way through with no breaks.

If the movie doesn't give a pause, or stop option you can still right click it on the page and choose stop from the list, that will let it finish loading and you can wait a few seconds before starting it back up again (again by right-clicking and choosing "play")

That won't work, it still buffers as soon as I press play.
