My friend's boss thought he was being clever in his power bidding to get an awesome camera for $100. The next closest bid was $6 or something. Yep. You guessed it. He got the case.
Since i've never used ebay, what's the etiquette on backing out of a deal once you've blundered into it?

Demand a home address to send payment to, and be really creepy about it.

ROFL! I'll have to keep that one in mind. I think a 'Ps. what are you wearing right now?' should do just fine.

When you bid or buy something on Ebay, you enter a binding contract. A seller and buyer can mutually agree not to carry out a transaction, but this is not encouraged. A seller still has to relist and sell the auction to get a full credit for fees paid. Speaking as a seller myself, I expect every buyer/bidder to pay. Of course I don't hide anything in fine print nor try to be clever so I have had very few problems. [ 11-20-2005, 12:34 PM: Message edited by: Chewbacca ]

I would back out of THAT deal without 2 seconds forethought or afterthought. Giving ebay a bad name.
