Need help: Brynn Law

OK, I think I'm covered. Anyway, I just got out of Spellhold and agreed to help Saemon Haevarian exact his revenge on the Pirate Lord (?) by stealing the latter's ship. This involves going to the Pirate Lord's girlfriend's house and pilfering a horn. Problem: When I go inside the girlfriend's house, I can't find the darn horn! I know it's supposed to be on the table, but it's not there. I also know that there could be guards inside the house I'd have to fight. Not there, either. The problem might be the fact that I looted the house before getting in/out of Spellhold. But I didn't find a horn in that house the first time, either (no surprise). I might've inadvertantly messed up the scheme of things by looting the house before the Spellhold adventure.

I know I have the option of going directly to Underdark in lieu of escaping the island via Saemon's 'new' ship. But I don't want to miss the area that I think may only be accessible if you go with Saemon. Help!

The 'girl' and the guard will only be there at night. Just go to the inn and rest - then you should be able to proceed.

Unfortunately, I did just that. Seeing that it was still daytime, I came back into the inn and rested. Went to the house at night, didn't see the girl or the guard, nor did I find the horn.
