I'm sorry to always hop in and get all militant on people... I've been going through a few changes in my life... Junior year of college and all that... and I'm taking more and more gender psychology and sociology-type classes. I've even decided that I'm going to get my doctorate in gender studies, instead of theatre like I had planned (though theatre will always be in my life). But I come home from a long day of dissecting gender and society, and I see this, and I see people... Falling for it isn't a good term, but it's close. I guess sometimes I get frustrated when people don't see what I see.

And congratulations, people, you got something sincere out of me. I hope you're happy with yourselves [img]tongue.gif[/img]

But..but.. joking about minorities, the Germans, anyone from Belgium and making sexists remarks about women lies at the heart of Dutch culture. An unusual phenomenon, I admit, and if you're interested, perhaps you should take a class in antropology as well.

In all due fairness Illumina I think the woman in the add and the women who made it are as much to blame as the ones who watch it - if not more. I mean it compares to unwrapping a piece of candy, place it in a childs mouth and afterwards blame it for eating it.
I don't like gender stereotypes the least bit. However we must acknowlegde that even though men and women should be treated equally they are per nature different. Aiming at gender synergy where we compensate for eachothers weakness' with eachothers strengths' would be a welcome change in society.
