I'm about to send out some College applications, and today is the last day for that...
The problem is that I finished high school at an adult school, I can't remember when I got my diploma, and I lost it. I don't need to send a copy of my diploma, just a copy of the grades sheet the gvt sent me. Here's where I'm getting confused. I called one of the women handling those things at my old school, and she told me I got my diploma the 27 march 2003. But on the official sheet with my grades that was sent to me, it's written (as of 07 april 2003) Now considering that innacuracies and false information can get my application rejected, what do I write on it? I need to enter the month and year, so did I get my diploma in march or in april? [ 04-08-2005, 10:17 AM: Message edited by: Luvian ]

Luvian, I'm not sure how it works in such situations in your area, but it is not uncommon for a 'final grade sheet' to go out after the degrees are dated. Most schools have a 'graduation date' that ceremonies take place on and that's when they issue diplomas. A grade sheet (final one) might be issues later, after the ceremony is over (assuming they had the grades beforehand)
I know several schools here do that- they just pre-check the seniors who are graduating by hand before the final grades are all in for everyone else.

I'd find out from the school if they do issue the grade reports after the diplomas and then use the diploma date.

I don't think it's such a big deal. Just write march as that is when it's on your record according to the lady. No one at the college will know whether it's march or april unless they call up your old school, and then the lady would tell them March, right?

I think so too. That's what I'll do I guess.
I'm waiting about 10 more min for a phone call, then I'm going out to finalise everything and send my papers in.

luvian do not get a transcript when you finish school. Here in Alberta we need to produce a transcript to be-able to apply for any post secondary schools. I hope everything works out for you.

It looks like you're dealing with two separate things -- graduation date and report date. Sounds like your graduation date was 27 March, but the date the grade sheet was printed was 7 April. It's quite common to print dates like that on a report... helps to keep multiple copies in order.
I'd go with 27 March. If they have a problem, they can call your school. Besides, I think the "inaccuracies" they're looking for are more along the lines of whether you graduated at all, not whether it was in March or April of the same year.

I sent my applications, now I just have to wait and keep my fingers crossed.
I won't go into details because I don't want to get all dreamy yet, but let's just say I'll be really really happy if I'm accepted... I'll let you guys know if I am.
